An overview of the EU’s key institutions, the scope of its activities, how EU legislation is made and how to interact effectively with the EU
- Understand the structure of the EU and its key Institutions
- Understand the differing roles and responsibilities of the European Commission, the Council of Ministers and the Parliament
- Understand the scope of the Commission’s work and its budget
- Understand the work of ECOSOC, COREPER, UKREP and the Committee of the Regions
- Learn about the legislative process in the EU and how the Institutions take decisions, make regulations and issue directives
- Learn the key elements required for successfully negotiating with the EU
- Understand which people are most important to speak to, and how to gain access and communicate with them
- Learn how to communicate effectively with the key players in the EU Parliament, EU Commission, & the Council of Ministers
