Fergus Reid

Fergus has been a Clerk in the Commons for 15 years, during which time he as served as Clerk for Select Committees on health, foreign affairs, standards & privileges, environmental audit and culture media & sport. This has involved dealing with topics as diverse as dental remuneration (billing for filling), the Pergau Dam project (aid for trade), Members' interests (cash for questions), green taxes (dough for dirt) and Wembley National Stadium (lottery funds for FA); so perhaps not that diverse after all!

Fergus has also worked in a variety of procedural offices, and is currently in the middle of a 4 or 5 year stretch in the Table Office dealing with Parliamentary Questions amongst other things. His work experience in the distant past has included time as a maintenance man and residential care officer.
