Read more about Continuing Professional Development

CPD is defined as the holistic commitment to structured skills enhancement and personal or professional competence.

DTI's 'Accelerating Change' report. 2002.

Continuing Personal or Professional Development (CPD) is the term given to the commitment to lifelong learning.

This commitment to CPD is growing in significance as an increasing number of professionals recognise the benefits of adopting a more planned and structured approach to professional development. Employers and institutions are looking for evidence of progress, meeting clearly specified career objectives. Employees are therefore looking for opportunities to broaden and deepen their knowledge and keep up to date on a wide range of subjects and issues.

The CPD Certification Service was established to encourage the provision of and to assist in the dissemination of high-quality, independently certified CPD. Membership of the CPD Certification Service signifies the corporate commitment to the sharing of knowledge and enables members to have a wide range of material independently certified that conforms to universally accepted CPD guidelines.

The adherence of Government Exchange to the CPD guidelines and Code of Practice, ensures that all its training meets the most stringent quality assurance standards in the areas of delivery and presentation, up-to-date materials, qualified trainers, accommodation and equipment, meeting learning objectives, and being responsive to feedback.
